Mets veteran third baseman David Wright announced on Thursday afternoon that he will be activated prior to the Mets final home series of the season.  After his farewell he will call it a career.

Wright has been attempting a comeback for more than two years.  Right now he is slated to start at third base on September 29th his first action in the MLB since June of 2016.  

Wright confirmed that the doctors have told him that his condition will not improve and that his career is likely over.  Mets fans will have one last series to say goodbye.
