Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer started Wednesday night, as scheduled, just one day after breaking his nose practicing his bunting. He went 7 innings without giving up a run on 4 hits and while striking out 10.

Scherzer had one fan pay tribute to him in the form of a t-shirt. The man wore a t-shirt with a Scherzer’s face on it and tape on his nose.

Scherzer is maniac. Not even a black eye and a broken nose can slow him down. If contenders aren’t lining up to land him in a trade before the deadline, then baseball is truly broken.
